inclimate weather
I have done a search on this already. All I could find were the procedures for storing. I am not storing but do not drive it on salty dirty roads. Being from Rockford, Il. right now it is just sitting in the garage. How often should I start it and should I give it gas while warming up or vary the rpms or just let it warm up and then shut it down. First decent day I get it will be driven. any thoughts. Never had a flood issue with this car.

Drive it once a week if you can. I wouldn't think that starting it and just idling would be a smart thing to do. If you can't drive it at least once a week, get a battery charger that is designed to maintain a full charge in the battery. Schumacher makes a few of them. Select a 1 or 1.5 amp charger that will maintain a float charge after it has fully charged the battery. You can either leave the charger connected to the battery or you can disconnect it when the battery is fully charged and then periodically reconnect it to bring the battery up to full charge.
Whatever you do, don't start it up and shut it down without fully warming it up. In fact, I wouldn't start it up at all unless you are going to take it for a drive.

To store it, do the following:
- Add fuel stabilizer about a 1/4 to 1/2 tank before you stop driving it
- Pu it up on jackstands to take the load off the suspension and tires
- Disconnect the battery
- Crack a window or the sunroof it it's garaged

I had an MR2 that was pretty much garaged each winter when I lived up north. If the roads were clear of snow I'd take it out every chance I could. Of course in MI that didn't add up to many chances. I would at least start the car once a week and attempt to drive up and down my street a couple times. Make sure you have a battery charger...I did lose my battery a few times.
Take your 8 out when the roads are clear...and turn your AC on once in a while.
