I've got a question for other 8 owners. On the information display there appears to be a blank spot. If you look close enough, it looks like it might be a display for a fan. The problem is that it never lights up. It is right next to the radio station display and underneath the a/c indicator. Does your light up?

 

Its for non-US models with auto climate control, I believe.

 

Non US models have automatic climate control? How come we don't get it, atleast with the GT package? Sucks. This is one feature I really miss.

nope. not even on the hi-power models.

but yeah. the differences in markets is kind of odd.

North america get two oil coolers on the 6mt

other markets (not sure how it breaks down exactly) get puddle lights on the side mirrors, auto climate control, strato mica blue paint (i really hate mazda na for this one). they also get a 5sp manual for the low power engine (the 4port on the auto here in the states)

 

I guess the twin oil coolers makes up for it but couldn't they add everything on the NA model? Oh doesn't the Canadian model get the head light spray? Do they have the twin oil coolers as well?

 

Those puddle lights would be pretty sweet!

Put some red bulbs in there for show (and to match my red leather)...

 

canadian models do have the headlight washers (you can see the little squares on the bumpers, they pop out about 2-3 inches and shot spary at the lights).

We need those oil coolers more in North America than they do in Europe.

As far as I can see, my country offers the worse option because there is only one mazda dealer in the whole country and I'm not joking. We don't even have the Shinka, the GT, the AT and not even mazdaspeed kit available to us. All we have is a 6MT, one oil cooler, no immobiliser, BOSE equipped car, no RX-8 interior carpets (can u believe it). Worse still is the last time i damage my rear tunnel member and fuel tank insulator, they couldn't even be bothered to replace the parts but instead referred me to their repair shop to have it bent back.

as far as i know, only US and Canada. i don't think japan does either, and there are parts of the country that get really hot too (and humid).

 

is there any way to get the climate ocntrol shipped and installed in the states? It would be expensive but it might be worth it.

 

i believe that the info display is the same as the mazda 6, which has auto climate control, and uses the little fan speed indicator.
