or perhaps because, as much as this thread was bound to provide entertainment one way or another... it doesnt really belong in the lounge anymore.
so where do you put a thread that isnt exactly funny now, but doesnt quite warrant the performance category as it was bound to never perform?(lol)
...... General Discussion!
i'm extremely curious how a clamp found it way in there at all without being obvious..... and also as to how it caused these problems....
-a clamp starting on the exhaust side of the motor and finding its way to a wastegate could create havoc with the turbo, but not the motor(not at idle anyhow)
-a clamp starting before the motor: is either pre intercooler in which case the intercooler would catch it?
OR post intercooler in which case it would have to make it through: the throttle body, the upper and lower intake mani's, then be run through the motor and spit out to reach the waste gate.... i think that would be freaking obvious if it happened, just by looking at the clamp.....

^^^ i dont know if they would be tied, but the only way i can tie a clamp flying around inside to a huge jump in revs is if the clamp was on the cold side and either hit/opened the throttle for a moment before getting sucked through
this leads to the clamp having to go THROUGH the motor to get to the wastegate though.... which i would guess would completely destroy the clamp and be obvious upon discovery....?
hmmmm, just thought of something... "HUGE PSSSHHHHHH"...? BOV venting?? but that would mean a closed/closing throttle, and pressure on the cold side... how does that happen from idle.......
MM, you arent saying much, i wonder your line of thought.... i need to learn to think logically about this kind stuff...

Nothing much to say.
1) I think this might be a hoax
2) The description of the failure is so vague that it is incomprehensible
3) The few details offered are somewhere between whimsical and impossible
4) The failure, if it is real, is so fantastic that it really would gain nothing by way of explanation

All I know is that I can't generate boost at idle. I can rev the crap out if it and boost never goes above 0.
