Intakes

CtRiderrx8: I'll jump in and help you on this one before you get flamed... (this is my random act of kindness for the day )
There are a few different intakes out there for our cars and regardless of which one you pick, know that the horsepowere differences will be VERY small (a few hp at most). With that said, I'll address the ones you brought up.
K&N: I've seen this intake and it's much better then the original version they came out with. They addressed the rough idle issue and this intake sounds quite agressive at full throttle.
AEM: pretty much identical to the Mazdaspeed intake. (believe Mazda partnered with AEM to use their setup) It's a good intake but I'm not a huge fan of the placement of the filter. Somehow I can imagine that guy getting dirty really easily. (maybe it's just me)
Did you look into the Racing Beat intake? That tends to be a very popular choice amongst many of us here. (I've had it for over a year now)http://www.racingbeat.com/FRmazda4.htm I like this unit just because it's very 'stock' looking and the closed box design should allow for colder air to reach the engine.
It's really up to personal preference though and how much you're willing to spend. Hope this helps.
P.S. do NOT PM Mugatu.
