Could you find out about shipping to Canada.
I cannot get the 2cy (Legend) that I normally use shipped to Canada, I have to drive to Lansing to get it.
If there is a problem, I have a P.O. Box in Detroit and a rental house i own in bloomfield hills.

I was hoping we could get to 24 buyers to offset the $75 cost of a group buy thread. I've also asked a mod if there can be any other option besides a 3-month group buy thread but so far no response yet.

Right now, we're looking at about $58/case plus shipping if everyone is serious. Certainly that's better than most vendors, but I have heard from one vendor that will sell a case for $62 plus shipping. Not sure if the $75 group buy is really worth all the trouble and risk.

What do you guys think?

i think it's worthwhile finding 3 more people to get in on this to drop the price down. it'd be kind of nice to know how much the shipping was going to be before we commit.. who's to say if they're going to rape us on shipping and charge us $40/case to make their profit that way....

My understanding from the vendor is that it is simply UPS shipping charges, not shipping and handling and gigalo services. If we go forward, I would certainly confirm that before putting our money down, as well as djfa's Canadian shipping question. Let's see if we can get a few more.

If people want to start PMing me their name and addresses, I'll start making up a list.

I'm interested, but now is not the time for me to be spending money. That, combined with the fact that I only used two quarts last year from May through November (when the car was garaged for the winter) makes me wonder if it's a good idea to buy a case at a time. I still have two full quarts in my basement, which will probably be enough for 2/3 of next year. How long with this stuff sit? Does it "go bad?"

go ahead and add me to the list. i've been on the fence for a long time on premixing but figure i should probably start doing this now rather than later.

EDIT: if/when the time comes, please PM me to remind me about this. i probably won't check the thread that often.

Hi, Chibana.

I emailed Idemitsu with your question. They expect their oil to have a long shelf-life but they only warantee it for 6 months. Personally, I don't think it's a problem. My last case lasted me nearly 2 years and I wasn't concerned. The cheaper cost of a case plus this discount and the high shipping costs still make sense for me to buy this a case at a time.

But I understand about money being tight so no pressure!

Bad news re: Idemitsu group buy, but can still order for $61.95

Update: Bryan from Rotorsports Racing called me up today to apologetically back out of the group buy. He is a very nice older guy who spends his days working on RX-7s and he decided it's just not profitable to spend his time shipping Idemitsu.

He will still sell it for $61.95 plus UPS shipping to individuals who email him. He's already calculated shipping costs for each of you that gave me addresses, but he may not want to be inundated with too many orders.

For those who want to save on shipping, if you order in advance, he can bring your order to the Deals Gap Rotary Rally in Nantahala Village in Fontana, North Carolina on April 17-19th.

If you want to order from Bryan, you can contact him directly at:

Tel: 704-933-6222
E-mail: info@RotorSportsRacing.com

Website: http://www.rotorsportsracing.com/

Sorry 'bout that, guys, we tried but it just isn't going to happen.

bawww I guess the 61.95 plus shipping isn't too bad. I'll have to roll that way.

Aw that's too bad..

Just to clarify, does that $61.95 already include shipping?? I found a page on their site (http://www.rotorsportsracing.com/per...g/idemitsu.htm) which has it listed for $53.95 / 12 quarts. Compared to $67 from Mazdatrix, which isn't a bad price already, it's a bargain.

No, that doesn't include shipping.

I saw that $53.95 on his website tonight and laughed. I don't think he's updated his website in a while.

rotary performance also has it at $53.95 .. until you add it to your cart in which it's higher and they quote a "updated price" for the year.
