That Interior, would you change anything?

I have always felt that the inside of a car must be as inviting and functional as any other part of the car. This is, after all, where you spend most of your time. Lets take them one at a time.

I was amazed at how attractive the dash of the RX-8 was.
Am I alone or is this one of the best dashes around?

And those seats. They look particularly modern and also comfortable. The bolsters seem capable of holding the driver, and passenger, in place during really hard cornering.

And that short "rotarized" shifter and unique parking brake. Too much. Too much. I can just spend hours there.

Anyone else think this car has one of the best interiors??
And would you change anything?

Definately nice interior

I would have prefered the handbrake on the left side of the shifter though, because then I can attempt to do my 360s :P

I think I'll have better luck in the RX-8 than I've had in my Millenia.

Speedo shmeedo. :p

I too think the RX-8's interior is wholly inviting. The high center tunnel is something I really love which isn't seen much on today's cars. My MKI MR2 has one and it's super comfy.

Truthfully the RX-8's interior looks like what I would design for myself. Can't wait to experience it in person.

The exterior looks good but the interior looks incredible. The side pic of the RX-8 with both doors open is what first grabbed my attention to this car - the amazingly thin but beautiful seats, the high center tunnel, the dash and console. I thought it was just a concept car interior and would never make it to production...

Interior is class! I love the rotor finishes on the headrests, door sills etc.

I must agree. I have seen many a good interior, Audi, BMW, Volkswagen, Volvo to name a few. But the RX-8 takes the cake. One of the very best that I have seen, bar none. I love the gauges, the console, the vents, the . . . well it all is so businesslike while at the same time being inviting and sporty. I don't like the digital speedo though.

I always felt that my 2nd gen RX-7 had a wonderfully laid out interior, with every switch, dial, lever, etc. in just the right place. 16 years later, I still love it. I just wish all those switches, dial, levers, etc. still worked

I think the RX-8 will provide a continuation of that feeling. Just thinking about it is making me feel 'kinda funny', as Garth would say

I think that Mazda is the only Japanese manufacturer to come up with designs that don't feel cheap. Somehow they get that international styling that only the Europeans can match.

man fuz... i agree with ya.. nissans especially.. cheap stuff... you dont have to use fake wood to make a car's interior inviting... the rx-8 looks great on the inside and cant wait til it comes out

The Germans are still a notch above Mazda, but at least that says a lot for Mazda.

The Millenia I own has a great fit and finish for what it is, and my Maxima can't compare. The RX-8 should be the same. The Mazda6 already has reviews comparing it with the quality of BMW.
