bah.. you need less then 2 quarts for the rear diff, and about 3 qrts for the transmission.. they're about the same 10.00 bucks each. I use RP in the engine, but i've always used redline for the tranny, i'm sure RP is just as good. Either way, your synchro's will thank you

oh! be carefull on which tran oil you get... you don't want to use GL-5 grade in the tranny, it could damage the synchro's. MAKE sure if you have somebody else doing it that they don't mix that up aka get it backwards when they're doing it. RP has a similar equivalent, at this point is just a case of Barney preference... (Australian pun intended)

Automatic Transmission is 8.4qt on page 376 of the adobe file. Rear diffs are the same.

Alot more goes into an automatic, I still can't remember how the torque converter works unless i look it up.

Least you don't have potential synchro issues :P

oh revising: oil cooler capacity.. after putting in 2 quarts, and starting it up and having it cycle, you'll notice the dipstick goes down to the low line which i'm guessing is due to the 2 oil coolers and related lines. i don't know if they drain to the pan, somebody else might be able to confirm this.... I just do the change, add 2 quarts.. let it warm up, check dipstick and top off.. which has been about another quart from my experience. just don't over fill

I see the question.. i'm tired sorry, I just guessed off the top of my head for oil capacity on the manual tranny.. last above paragraph i was thinking you were asking about the engine oil capacity. I should re-read this in the morning but just go off the owners manual, you'll be fine. .. atleast you have a dipstick for the tranny vs a finger for the manual.
