its been a pleasure

Well....i never thought i would have to do this.. but my 2006 galaxy grey rx8 is gone. I was going to be installing a 3rd engine. Looking at cost and realistic life scenarios, the smartest thing for me was to let it go and get something else. There is nothing like an rx8. I will never feel at home in another vehicle like this. But.... the fairytail is over. .

find it hard to believe that his 06 was over 100k, 25k a year would be a bit excessive. But yea i guess it is possible.

Sorry to see you go bro. Good luck!!

And engine replacements in 06's are not that uncommon guys. I got my 3rd engine before the 100,000 mark. First one only lasted 22k, second 74k. We have a local member who is a mazda tech and he has done engine replacements in quite a few 06's so far and he has only been a tech a year or so. Unless he does extreme mileage, 3 engines is a lot but........

I love it when people post up, "I have xx,xxxx mileage on my original engine with no problems" and then next week you see their thread about needing an engine replacement

Understood. I wish you all the very best with your next vehicle.

Take care, and please don't worry over it too much.

wtf brandyn? i doubled my mileage in a year! it had 30k when i got it, a year later i had around 60K. so if anything its not "a bit excessive" especially if its a daily driver.

Well.. i had my 1st engine go at 63,000. Alamo rotary rebuilt it lasted till 74,000. Oil was changed b4 3000 miles. Well maintained. Had zero problems.1 day i get a backfire and she was gone. Im looking at getting a used C6 vette, or a 370z. My warranty was declined by mazda for many reasons.

Lol. I just been bizzy. My frustration has been gone for a while now. I knew wat i was getting into after I bought the car so i cant blame anyone. I just refuse to pour more money into it when i can concentrate on a more capable vehicle. Lastly i had an a/t. Ive been wanting a 6 spd. So if i get back into the rx8 ring, I will be going m/t. Ive seen good prices on used rx8s
