Well.. i had my 1st engine go at 63,000. Alamo rotary rebuilt it lasted till 74,000. Oil was changed b4 3000 miles. Well maintained. Had zero problems.1 day i get a backfire and she was gone. Im looking at getting a used C6 vette, or a 370z. My warranty was declined by mazda for many reasons.

In all honesty, i will probably NEVER buy a new rotary powered car. In most general cases i feel like they shouldnt be daily driven a lot, so that would make a "used toy" more practical for me. By time the new rx8 releases, there could be even more advances in the Renesis. So its a toss up. We will see in march when i go and buy another used toy.,

UPDATE. Purchased a used '95 Miata from one of my buddies. Will also be getting another cash car in the coming weeks to be my daily driver...
2011 PLANS: As I said...."PLANS". And you know how "plans" go in the rx8 world lol
I plan to by a 6speed manual rx8 in february/march. I will have a spare motor from day 1 with esmeril seals in it. I will treat the stock motor thats already in the car the best I can until it pops. Those are my short term plans. Being that I will have an extra engine, I willing to put my car up for some reasearch and development for the professional tuners. I wont be scared to try anything out on this one. It wont be a daily driver and I will keep a spare engine at all times.

Thats the route I am taking. The 8 is just my toy. I had a new engine put in back in June and have been modding ever since. I don't plan on going turbo, my plans are to get this car totally ready for the track. To make it as stable and reliable as possibe while squeezing every single hp I can from the N/A engine. The Sohn omp adapter is in the mail. I'm going the 2 stroke route in combination with synthetic motor oil. Next coilovers, rims, strut tower bars and I'm ready. With all the work I've been doing, I've only put a little over 1,000 miles on the car since June but track days are coming soon! Good luck with the Miata!
