We have various Formula Mazda cars running at one of our local tracks. They are about as awesome as you can get and wickedly fast. You can get into a used one with a good engine for about $20K. I will have one as soon as I build a house with a 4 car garage.

The one with the carbon fiber tub (on the right) supposedly weighs only 800lbs with the driver in it.

Let me look, I have a .pdf on the Star Mazda cars. I know they use an aftermarket ECU, cable throttle body, unique header, different pulley setup, etc and IIRC, they premix but I'm not 100% on that.

Here is a link to the .pdf No mention of OMP though. One thing I caught that I hadn't before was oil pan depth, they must have a deep pan on it or maybe dry sump?.

"Therefore the engine is being starved of the lubricating
oil in the fuel at high rpm for long periods of time when running above
8600 rpm t zero throttle"

I guess they do delete the OMP.

The ECU cuts spark above 8600 rpm, but it also cuts fuel at zero
throttle input. Therefore the engine is being starved of the lubricating
oil in the fuel at high rpm for long periods of time when running above
8600 rpm t zero throttle
Implies premix ...........

Edit : SNAP !

Yeah, premix only I assume since they are not running the stock ECU.
