I think the handle everyone is talking about, though, is the recessed finger grip, not the release.

Gotcha.. I hear "trunk" and "latch" and my mind automatically jumps to incidences from when I was a kid.. As for the recessed finger grips, yeah, I knew that was there..... last week. lulz

I did not know about the trunk, center consol, or credit card holder. I new about the sunglass holder but mine do not fit, I use that change holder all the time and no noise.

I couldn't see putting my credit card in there for any reason but I could see using it for parking garage tickets or tollway tickets.

Did you know that the owners manual states that you should not run your car into walls or jump it off cliffs.... It also says you should not flip the car upside down.

Here is something else that VERY FEW people knows...

The hidden RX-8 navigation menus

All codes are activated by clicking the MENU button on your center console. You will get the choice of "Select Destination" or "Setup Menu".

Choose "Setup Menu"

Then select "System Information"

Then select "Version"

The three hidden menus are:

System Information: UP UP DOWN DOWN

System Analysis: UP UP UP DOWN DOWN DOWN UP DOWN

Yes, my RX-8 really does look like a Ferrari.

Did you know the rear center piece between the seats comes out? There's even a pocket in the back of that piece.

I think it was a year before I realized there was a trunk handle. I too saw someone using it and was shocked!

I looped my index finger into the latch and pulled down. I always wondered if I wouldn't move it in time and smash my finger in the trunk.

System Analysis: UP UP UP DOWN DOWN DOWN UP DOWN
What is god mode? Isn't it UP DOWN UP DOWN A B START?

It took me about a week to notice the sunglass holder, never realized there was a clip on the visor for cards, read about the trunk button when I first bought the car and have used it since, read on here about the handle on the trunk about 3 weeks after owning the car (although I still use the latch, quicker IMO), read in the manual when I first bought it about the jack and all that (figured it would have one since all cars I've owned have), don't have NAV so no comment there, read about the middle compartment flipping up in the manual as well. In a given period of time took about 1 month to find out almost everything compartment of the car. I'm still waiting to find that button to make it a ***** magnet.....dammit where the hell is that thing.....

Oh, ***** magnet only came in certain years, editions, and colors. You may be able to go to the dealership and ask them for the install.

Some people may not know that after you slide the lid back you can lift it up
