What's even funnier is that almost all of us have posted something about what a joke the poll is, but on the S2K site, they seem to be getting all butt-hurt over the poll being so close. They dont even seem to notice all the SUV's on the same poll!

They get butthurt over there quite often. I like the S2K quite a bit, but the amount of fanboi and douchebag owners seems to be a pretty high percent.Most of the autocrossers are the exception.

 

Around here most of the S2K owners are very cocky, untill i challenged them at the track, and they were humbled

 

Looking at the bars, they are definitely ahead. Looks like the RX-8 voters just can't keep up! Oh well, maybe they are just more dedicated.

Yeah, I mean this is all in good fun, but the guys over at the S2K forums who are saying that it's a performance poll are out of their minds. Every other poll has an SUV in it. It's clearly just a popularity contest and at this point it's a "who's got the better cheaters." So far, it's them.

 

^S2000 owner said, “in pure performance which the poll is about, the S2k is the better car.” Horseshite. The poll is to determine “Japan’s ultimate supercar.” Japan doesn’t have any supercars so the poll is moot from the beginning. It is therefore voting for whatever you like better (except now it is a cheating contest which is outstanding entertainment).

That said there is more to car than performance. Now, normally this is what people with useless cars say but here it is meaningful. In comparisons by Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Winding Road and Top Gear the RX8 has won out vs S2000, G35s, 350Zs, Evos, and WRX’s. It does not have the power of any of those cars yet it has won all of the comparisons I’ve read. It wins because a car on paper is not the car itself.

Another S2k owner supposed we don’t appreciate the S2k as much as they appreciate the RX8. I don’t see that. I see people flaming on both sites. I like the S2000 and I’ll wager quite a number of people on RX8club who appreciate nice cars like it too. They are both great cars and you deserve congrats on obtaining either.

So to the S2k owners: Nice car! …and vote RX-8.

You're looking at a ton more fans of this car then owners on that site though, much of them being young and competitive, which also takes place on here. I see a lot of people older then myself driving in S2000s, as it's an adult car, and that site does not tell the story of it's owners. They are nice in my experience, and even when I had my RX8 and STI, they were very respectful of my car, much as I was to them. I belong to S2KCA, which is much much smaller, and distinct to the S2K only, and has pretty much all owners, and the average age is well over 30.

I find this forbes competition to be very amusing personally. The S2000 was way ahead in the beginning, until the RX8 people began to cheat better, and the S2K guys were caught snoozing. The next thing they knew they went from 61% to 49%, and were losing. Looks like they are fighting back, which is fun to see. I guess the Honda guys realized they were getting outcheated, and the real battle begins. They should have not gotten laxed, thinking the RX8 boyz wouldn't respond to catch up, otherwise, this contest would be over.

I do think that in a fair one vote only poll, the S2000 hands down would win. Lets face it. It's a much more popular car overall, it's more abundant, and it's even selling better now then the RX8, and it's been out for 7 years. Either way, who cares what that poll says. It's meaningless, yet at same time it's fun to watch and see who wins. Personally I vote for both every so often, to keep things even.

 

Actually, you're wrong. The 8 was up 70/30 before anyone started messing with it. They said so themselves.
