Just 25 or 30 Please

Hey, I have a 2010 Series II. ******* sweet car. Looking for down-and-dirty list wisdom on this question - yes, too lazy and old to go link hunting - relying on expert rotary brethren.........

looking for a 25 to 30 aftermarket HP addition with quality vended product from reputable folks like Racing Beat, MazdaTrix etc.

can I get this out of intake and exhaust mods ?
BHR Ignition more for reliability, any HP gain ?

your expert opinion on how to get there ?
pipe dream or is it attainable ?

thanks in advance for advice

you are gonna get flamed for not searching but to answer your question, you arent gonna get 25-30 hp out of this engine without going FI, which is not currently available to series 2 rx-8's. so enjoy your car as is or be happy with spending a couple hundred on an exhaust and intake and gaining maybe 7 hp.

Zoned pretty much summed it up, but..................

Okay, we don't take too kindly to those that don't at least make an attempt to do some looking on their own, but I at least hope you will do some reading, so here you go.
These three aren't exactly what you asked for, but are a good start and every new owner should read them. I know you've had/have another rotary, but you should read these anyway, there is some really good info in them.

Flame On. Not trying to incite. Been on the list for a few months and have researched. Looking for summary from those who have been there, done that.

looks like 25 to 30 hp is far fetched ?
Easily done on an FD and FB....

Not gonna even come close without FI......which presents a lot of other potential issues.

youre not dealing with an FD or FB. this is an N/A engine tweaked by mazda to the maximum of it's capacity (within a few HP).

if you want to go faster, try lighter wheels, carbon fiber, flywheel, and gutting the cockpit.

just enjoy the damn car stock like it is. otherwise your gonna fork out 20K for the three rotor engine, or at least 2-3K for turbo or supercharger. Then your gonna complain when you need an engine rebuild every 30K miles and mazda wont touch it cause you FIed it. Just don't even bother jacking with it so that your not in the forums later on crying because you burned out an engine in less than 30k miles and mazda wont replace yours.

Okay. thanks for the guidance. I will probobly do the ignition reliability mod, intake mod and - maybe - exhaust mod and then take a placebo mindset that I am up by 20 or 30 ponies and drive it like I got it.

fantastic car by the way, the other cars in the garage rarely are driven now because of the 8.
