Just bought a 2004 rx-8 and...
It has 27,000 miles very nice like new! I have a general understanding of the rx-8 and rotary engines. basic. I just had it in the mariha shop in santa barbara, ca and the owner said the engine sounded great and strong.
There is a noise i notice when i rev the engine it's happens between 5.800 and 6.250 almost sounds like a ring ratteling or something then its happens again at 8.000 and there seams to be a power shortage close to 9.
just wanna keep my rx-8 running happy. i check and fill the oil every time i fill the tank. Ive also owned a mazda 3 before so mazda has been the car of my choice for about a year now... love em' but they seem very sensitve just like women.
