Just bought a Shinka
I have a 2004 Titanium and fell in love with the Shinka after seeing it on the net. I called my dealer last month and told them to call me if they ever got one. Got the call this morning, just came off the truck. Went down at lunch, car was still all wrapped up in plastic, from shipping. Dealer worked out the numbers, ran the credit...all good, payment only going up $25/month. Picking it up tonight. :D . I'll post some pics in the next few days, will be too dark tonight to take any.

Congrats... I seen the brochure on the Shinka Edition this weekend and the dealer said he will be willing pay off my 8 so that I can replace it with the Shinka Edition.
Decisions, decisions.....

I love that paint color. Have people thought about just getting their current RX8 repainted in that color? Is that a viable option? That color combined with the black interior would be pretty cool too (the 350z had that combo and looked great).

The paint is very different, the car looks almost black at night and low light, in sunlight it has that beautiful dark cherry color, but the color changes depending where you are standing. Not as purple as the website pictures on Mazda.

How come both the people that have reported getting the Shinka on this site have been able to do it last minute. I have been waiting for mine (I even have the VIN) since Jan. 3rd. Suppose to finally show up next week. Talk about frustrating.
Where are you located that you go one this week.

Congrats!!
Welcome to the Shinka club - we'll have to get our own topic opened on the fourm
It will be interesting to get your perspective on the suspension to see if the changes make any noticable difference.
I think the delivery times are affected by location - Vancouver is the point of entry for cars for Canada- very short distance from the docks to the dealers here. The 3 dealers I saw over the last 2 months of shopping did not have any literature or even mention the special edition version, I think my dealer was surprised by the arrival - no one had pre-ordered one. Maybe the fire at the plant also confused the expectations of arrival times.
Have fun tonight - let us know how you like it.

I live a hundred miles from the port of entry in So. Cal. I live in San Diego and they come into Santa Barbara County. So how come Utah, Vancouver, SF Bay Area dealers all have them and here I sit waiting. My dealer knows he is gettting 3.

credit issues, debt to income ratio a little to high. . Dealer is still working on the financing. I called them yesterday afternoon, he said no problem on the credit, showed up there at 5pm to pick it up and he told me the bad news. he is working some other loan companies. hope to find out today.
