well my dad sort of got it for me and i had checked it out before then and i love how NO ONE practically has on, so thats a plus
and i understand that i need to learn how to drive first but the acceleration lag is a BIG difference for me.. maybe because for the past year with my permit i have been driving my dads 350Z that just launches at the touch of the pedal... acceleration just seems like such a MAJOR plus in a car for me..
shayneypoo is the name my girlfriend and her friends call me.. it sort of stuck dont ask
lilring:

I'm a new driver myself and my 8 is my first car as well. You are going to get flamed by other people on here just because its your first car and you are a new driver. Trust me it happened to me. But other than that, dont drive like a moron and take good care of your 8.

Best advice I've ever gotten? Go autocross your car. You'll quickly learn the difference between your capabilities and the capabilities of the car, plus it'll satisfy your inner speed demon for a while. It's low-speed, highly technical racing that's relatively easy on the car (compared to other forms of racing), and it's a ton of fun. Definitely try it out at least once, you won't regret it.

Good for you, Shayneypoo (hey, that rhymes!)
Somebody has to buy all those used AT 8's, you may as well be one of 'em.
Welcome to the feeding frenzy that is 8club. Don't get yourself killed running before you can walk.

Look at what RPM the MT makes max horsepower, it should become quite clear why the AT makes less horsepower.
