Just Crashed My New 8!!!!
ok, maybe not crashed lol but this is my first 8 i got about a WEEK AGO!!! my first rwd car keep in mind...I realllllllly did not want to drive it today, but was left with no choice...i stayed on the left lane with my hazards on the entire time, the entire trip was fine until my exit came up...i SLOWLY tried to exit, no goo...BOOOM...luckily i got out of the car, and it was a little scuff on the bumper, no biggie (although its killing me inside)...but i guess thats what i get for thinking 2 subs and a sub box in my trunk would give me traction 
guess 8's are just not meant for winter...

i was actually thinking about getting a good pair of winter tires for the back...but since i just got the car didnt have time to...as of now some type of BF Goodrich...I believe they are performace tires...Guess I made the mistake thinking a little weight and driving slow would keep my 8 safe...never again is my 8 going to see snow...

the difference between snows and all seasons is like night and day... get some snows and you'll see that the 8 is a 4 season car... as long as you're not trying to drive in snow deeper that 5 inches, then ground clearance is an issue...

Thank you all for your input...i guess i will def. be investing in some winter tires...im located in the north jersey area, im not really concerned all that much with price, anyone have any suggestions as to what kind and where?

just Became a better drifter and i think you should be fine..lol

Your stock rims are 18 inches, right?
Standard answer is Blizzaks on 17 inch rims. It's usually best to get a whole set of tires and rims - mounting and balancing on a single set of wheels twice a year gets old. Check out tire rack's winter packages. (I'm not associated with tire rack...but they're a forum vendor, they have very good prices, and they're good to deal with.)

Not the best Idea to purchase your first RWD vehicle in the middle of a NE Winter, which is why I'm waiting till Summer :-)
At least you will learn quick, and my best advice to you is to actually practice drifting. Once you get accustomed to the feeling of your car breaking traction, you get a better anticipation for it. Oh yeah, get winter tires too.
Don't feel bad, I spun out and took my bumper clean off the first week I got my car. It happens.

i personally would not drive my 8 in the winter on a daily basis. not so much because of the rwd factor, as the 8 is actually really good in the snow, but more so because of the road salt.

good thing it's only minor damage but that is the exact reason y i got a winter beater when living in the north and y i recommend all winter drivers to invest in a beater!
