Hey everyone Just drove my left over 05 sport 6 speed off the dealer lot . I live in charleston WV and drove to cincinatti OH to get it. Got it home was showing it to some friends and noticed on the drive home I recieved 2 big rock chips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have read that you all said they were bad about chips but come on I just drove it home!!!!!! ohh well guess I should get use to it.. I went down to the auto store and when I was leaving rx8club member (airlockRX) was sitting in the parking lot waiting to hand me a rx8 club invitation. Just wanted to say hi to everyone , great site

Congratulations!
Congratulations on your new car! Since you have some minor marks on the paint you can now relax because your car is Christened! Just kidding....I am sorry you had some minor damage before you had a chance to protect it better. Now you don't have to stress out all the time about every single little mark! Or worry about corrosion on your wheels....

Congrats!! Welcome to the vain of our existance. Buy a bottle of touch up from the dealer & be prepared to use it every time you wash your new baby. It sucks, but you will get used to it. I promise.

Congratulations on your 8!. BTW, I did the same thing. Flew outta town, bought the car, drove it home and noticed chips! Bummer. Get the Clear Bra. Had it installed on my car and when I got the MS bumper, put it on it, too. Works great, no more chips. Good luck with your new car. Enjoy.

Congrats Rob!
It's so nice to finally personally socialize with a rational thinking, car-savvy, fellow 8 driver!
The others I've met in this area are afraid of me or something (think they saw my avatar??).
So what If I look like Hendrix when my sunroof is open?
Guys,
I sighted him at an Auto Parts Store and waited for him to come out.
Nearly talked his ears off.
Is that loneliness or what?
Mike

Congrats on your car and having a talkative fellow 8 driver nearby...
I lived in Hurricane for a couple of years and worked in S. Charleston - many many years ago and have fond memories of the area. White water rafting on the Gauly and New rivers, hiking in the mountains... good times.
You guys lawyers (state capital) or work in the chemical industry (major employer)? I worked in the Chemicals when I was there.

Glad you invited him. So, do you have pre-printed invitation, mini-business cards or what?
(I won't flame - I found a place in the internet which prints business cards for free so I made some to keep in the car to tuck under the wiper of fellow RX-8s I find).

Actually I did some cards found on the forum, had them pre-printed and in the glove box (same as you).
Turns out, he was already signed up.
BTW: Got 2 Dance School Daughters myself, you're in good company!
Here's the card again, lost the link...

^^^^ neat! I like the card - much better than mine (which seems goofy to me, but gets the same point across).
RX-8, plus multiple dancing daughers. That's a lot in common. I may trump you soon: I have an almost 3-year-old who aspires to dance also. That'll give me a few years with 3 dancers before the oldest clocks out of the FIFO into college or something.

My youngest started in pull-ups!, pretty funny with a Tu-Tu on...
Seems that we all share some other common lifestyles here.
That's what makes this forum a cool place to hang out- well, that and some degree of maturity.
Tiggerlee submitted the card last as I best recall.
I was gonna do the same and make some up and he came to my aid.
