just got back from dealer (buying)
first off sorry for repost but i dont think too many rx8 owners check the purchasing subthread.
anyways
i just got back from two mazda dealers (browning mazda and tustin mazda) and the prices they offered seemed decent but I want to know what other people are getting. This is an 07 GT MT rx8, 30,000 with navigation and 28,000 without. BTW this is so-cal LA area.
if anyone in this area could post their prices that would be awesome, or anyone with any helpful advice.
ps. 28K is a rough estimate he said he might be able to hammer down the price a little.

If i can give any advice, it would be think LONG and HARD about the navigation. Almost every other option can be added (aside from heated seats and factory sunroof), but that NAV has always been one of my biggest regrets, because adding it is insanely expensive and very lengthy.
Yea, $2K for NAV is pricey, but the flush-ness and bling-effect of the factory NAV has always seemed unsurpassed. Because I passed it up, I'm stuck with (but still content) a Garmin Nuvi 660. Very nice second place, but I wish so much that i'd just took the factory NAV option.
Just a thought.

thanks for the input. when it comes down to it though if i can get navigation on it for relatively the same price then ill shoot for it for sure. im kind of half half on navigation though because personally i don't like the interface on the rx8 navi BUT buttons built into the car is always nice.

30 grand doesnt sound too bad. esp when its as fast as an m3 around a track. i wish my car had nav, it has all options but nav. its not that i need it, i have a fantastic sense of spatial orientation but the bling factor of a pop up nav system is awesome. and besides, if i decided on a road trip into unknown territory and wanted a nav system (which i wouldnt but still...) i wouldnt want to destroy my beautiful view of the road with some stuck on contraption.
btw, there is a forum for purchasing, financing and insurance :P

i got an 07 Grand Touring Auto with a spoiler for $26K in so cal. the dealer i went to are real jerks but i got the best price in all of southern california. I must have called 10 other dealers to see if they could beat $26K and no one could. I bought my car from Super Lincoln Mazda.

the rx-8 isn't heavily discounted (5-8k under msrp) anymore since they don't have a glut of stock to push.
30k sounds about right for GT package with navi. I paid 31k for mine, and that was with the addition of the mazdaspeed spoiler
