just got my 8!
guess this is sorta an into post so hi, just got my 2009 R3 yesterday and i love it!
i lurked here for 6 months researching, first test drove the very car i just bought back in october/november and sat back and waited hoping the cash back would go up a bit more. sat at 5k for a while, finally bit the bullet and bought the darn thing. this is such a niche car, its recession time, the poor milage, its RWD and i live in newengland, its a sports car, worked out great for me, i was able to get the car for a great price!
it is eventually going to replace my aging 1998 integra that ive owned since 2001 once the winters over (not gonna test the bridgestones out in the snow ) my integra was a great car but its getting old, its so nice to have a car that handles like this without slamming jaw into my skull, that actually idles all on its own, isnt loud and doesnt smell like gas but is still relatively quick. i think my integra fully "summer tuned" with a muffler on it that wont pass inspection was certainly faster, but no were near as balanced.
havent pushed it much, since its so cold and summer tires dont like that, but so far its great. i gain more and more appreciation for the car the more i read about all the little things that add up to an increadible car.
only other car that was really in consideration was a wrx and i think i did alot better, i got a premium car for less than a base wrx. 370z wasnt an option as i have a kid and need the backseats, 3 series were just flat out too much money.
looks like the keyless entry is going to take some getting used to but other than that, looking forward to spending some time with everyone here in the future!

Welcome!
Wonderful New England
Where abouts in MA? Meets up here are relatively rare, but they do happen, generally between Worcester, Boston, and the Cape.

Yeah, everyone 'could', but the reality we have run into is that people simply don't show up, or there are too many conflicts, etc...
Even the more successful NEPOC meets only end up with 1-3 RX-8s on any given meet. The most I have ever seen at once up here was 7, and that was a shocker.
