just got my new 8 and the wife got a 06 miata

We took delivery of my new 05 rx8 this weekend and my wife got her 06 miata. Both brilliant black, both 6 speed. I got the sport package. paid $23,774 for it, i think that was a good deal, but i'm not real sure. I put nothing down. Anyhow I just wanted to share my eccitment this is my brand first car. Heel its my first car w/ under 100k on it.

Cogradulations on your new purchases and both good ones at that. I have been tring to talk my girl into buying a miata for months now. Partially because I want to drive it. lol It's a fun little car. I definately would not give my 8 up for one but 100 miles on 1/4 tank is a nice bonus.

Congrats! That sounds like a pretty good deal on an '05 RX-8, did your wife get much off on the MX-5 Miata?

As an aside, even though the car is suppose to be just "MX-5" now, I've noticed that Mazda NA still calls it "MX-5 Miata" on all their adds and tv commercials.

Perfect combination! My wife has an 03 SE. Goes well with my 04 RX-8.

You'll have a blast!

Yes, its a shame that they retired the Miata name. But I think that the name will stick for a while, there is just a ring to Miata that Mx5 just doesn't have.
I'm still waiting on the pics. tho.
Anyway I just finished fixing my best friend's miata top. some jack @ss cut it to steal the factory radio. came out pretty good considering my lack of skill. I call it now the franken-miata. It's all stiched up :-) I post pictures tomorow.

Btw he is selling it (just moved to NY to finish his masters and left me in charge of sellin the car for him, an da set of keys to me hehehe).
don't think you guys would be interested tho, I all the way in PR an having the car shipped will be more expensive than getting a 99 miata localy.

yes please explain how you got a SUPER deal?!? I've only been quoted for a 05 base 6MT at 25,404 and that's invoice + dest. around this time of the year (they called it employee pricing for the time being, yet now I see even employee pricing has additional tack on big rebates on the domestic dealerships!)

I know sometimes as soon as I mention below invoice around 1-2k they seem like they are disrespected as if it was a crazy lowball offer and yet I see people pulling it off here on the forums. And this is before rebates are factored in! What's the secret??? :D

If you lease it they have a promo where you also get a $2000 rebate, atlest they did ~2 months ago. Might as well, just make sure you get a low money factor and its totally worth it.

pictures are still in the works. My dog ate my USB cable for my camera, damn puppies.

As for the price. I told them i was also looking at the SRT4 neon that was at a dealer down the street. I basicly got them in a bidding war. it was actually 24,774 minus the 1000 dollar rebate from mazda credit.

Heh. I have a 99 10AE miata as well as a 2004 RX8 GT. It's a great combo, so congrats!

What trim level did your wife get? I test drove the Touring package, and it was in dire need of a 6 speed.
Love the shoulder room and the new top configuration too.
don't plan on being a passenger comfortably if you're over 6' though. they took a bunch of space out of the passenger footwell.
