Just got serviced

Hey guys,

Just got my 20,000km service and it's like the 8 was in training for a few months! It's taut, sprung and ready to explode on request in a way that it wasn't on Thursday afternoon when I dropped it off!

I reckon whatever drop-off in performance had happened, it was subtle and occurred over time so I never really noticed but DAMN! It feels like a 250bhp car now!

Anyone else experience something similar?

From a 20,000 km service? Are you sure it's not a placebo effect?

If you're lucky, for one of these 20,000 km services, they may have done an oil change and spark plugs. Then they sit your car in the lot for 6 more hours before calling you to pick it up at the end of the day.

Yeah 20k km is about 12k miles. Unless you requested it, they didnt even replace your spark plugs. I think it's just in your head.

Yeah, I see what you're saying about the placebo effect but I did clock a slightly quicker 0-60 time and 1km/h more in 2nd so.... it probably is exaggerated in my head (and heart) though!

My car wouldnt start on monday, so it was taken to the dealers. There it received new plugs, starter, and reflash. (i think i was on N). Well, now the car is definitely different from when i dropped it off. My dad noticed it too. It even sounds different to me.

Is the reset performed by disconnecting the battery momentarily?
