Just had a moment... wow im glad i have no valvetrain
Just doing a little work on my old car and was thinking of all the money i spent beefing up the head.
Frankenstined the motor out of all the best parts available, theoretically the head can withstand a sustained 8,000rpm no problem with great oiling characteristics that wont fill the head with oil and froth it up or spill it out of the valve cover...
But i still had that bad uh oh feeling about the pistons/rods failing (As they can really only withstand say 6500rpm "safely") And the timing belt/tensioner breaking would only result in a $2500 valvetrain being bent to ****.
I'm just thinking the money i spent on that motor coulda got me a hell of a FI setup on my new ride and i wouldnt have to worry about beefing up the internals.
I guess i should part out or sell the old car and use it to buy something nice for the rx8
