Just picked her up on Monday; Im elated!!

Yes, I got me a 2006 Galaxy Gray Sports Package and I absolutely love it. What a transition from my Miata!! Had 14 miles on the odometer when I picked it up.........

Was offered before I even started my dickering a price of 26K even, no doc fees, advertising fees, etc. Plus the $1000 rebate, cost me $25 even. I walked out the door a half an hour later for $25,900..............

Can't say enough good things about Capital Mazda of Cary (North Carolina) if anyone is shopping down here. They never once jerked me around. Treated me well, stuck by their price, didn't try to add any hidden charges....like I said, I was in and out in a half an hour..............I'm happy...............

BTW!!! The other local dealership down here (Southern States Mazda) has two 2005's (still selling as new) Perl White 8's tricked out with every single concieveable option possible. And I mean everything! They are ADVERTISING them at $26,995!!! Could be an interesting choice for someone that doesn't mind a car thats been test driven quiet a bit.........................

Ugh, and I paid like 36k for my 06... I'd gladly would of taken an 05 for 10k less...

I was looking for the Galaxy Gray as well, settled with white.... do you have any pics of it?

no pics yet, but I really like the Galaxy Gray as opposed to the titanium gray. Its got a very high mica content so the car changes color depending on the conditions. On an overcast day, it looks almost blue gray but when the sun hits it, a tiny bit of red comes out...........

I've always liked gray anyway cause it tends to lead the eye toward the car and not the color but this gray is almost magical the way it changes. It is the first thing that everyone comments on when they see the car.........

He didn't get an '05 for 10K less, he got an 06 for 10K less. Galaxy Grey wasn't available in 05.

First rule of car buying is that you never buy at the begining of a model year. Live and learn I guess.

I was talking about this:

"Perl White 8's tricked out with every single concieveable option possible. And I mean everything! They are ADVERTISING them at $26,995!!"

I paid 36k for my 06, I would of have gotten the 05 for 26k, thus saving me 10k.

Lol, and i now know about the new model year, but I needed a car after losing my 05 rx8, and naturally wanted the newest model of the car I loved.

Jebus, you got a great price. In Nov I paid about $25,000 for an 04 with 4,000 miles on it. Did I get the short end of the stick or what. Thanks a LOT carmax you and your overpriced no haggle prices. Sheesh. I put down $5,000 too, I'm sure had that car been at ANY other dealer I could have talked them down. But congrats no less. And welcome.

Swerver we have pretty much the same car and bought at the same time. It will be good to share experiences as we go through the run in period and beyond. I'm particulary interested in gas milege as my stealership said it will get better as the engine is run in....we'll see about that

thanx All...........I have a friend that has a Titanium Gray so I'm gonna try and take some pics of both cars together for comparison.

Thus far the car is rock solid; no hidden noises and the like. I'll try to post some pics soonest.....

And yes, it took me 1/2 hour to do the deal. I had already gone down on Sunday and inspected the car top to bottom visually. I faxed the Sales Manager my requests Monday morning and had a deal done via telephone. Went down to the dealer, wrote them a $12,000 personal check and had financing already in place for the rest. Took me like 10 minutes to finish with the finance guy.

Then I was forced to listen to the "checklist" before they handed me the keys. A very pleasant experience.

My only problem and anxiety now is the rising prices for gas....................

I hear you there, my VR6 was getting around 26mpg average....I know I'm getting way less than that with the RX-8, I really need to start recording my consumption.

Can't believe you had everything done so fast, I too put 12.5k down but arranged financing through Mazda. It was an 8 hour experience including test drives etc.
