Viper? nope.
seriously, nope.
I rather buy a Miata.
I know that makes me "gay" automatically, I rather be "gay" than driving a car that has a truck engine and handles like a truck.
best cars to come out of America ... wow you did not say that, its one of the WORST car ever from America.
if you put a gun to my head to make me pick between a Geo Metro or Viper. I rather u just shoot me or I will pick Geo Metro.

I'm not the public masses. I don't love massive horsepower. I don't like drag racing. I drive for the enjoyment of it. I love curves and corners. I love light well handling cars.
I'm ABNORMAL according to American statistics.
That just means I'm not another piece of cattle following the herd. I like being unique. I love being outside the norm. I love not being like other people.

Actually, no, you aren't having a "debate".
What you are actually doing is attempting to tell people that they don't have any reason to love what they love, when the simple fact is, you can't change it, and it's only going to get people angry at you by trying.
You can't seem to accept that there are reasons that OTHER people do things other than pure numbers.
If you CAN accept it, then you have to retract nearly every post you have made in this thread.
No one here is saying that the RX-8 doesn't have lower horsepower or lower top speed than your Camero. No one is saying the RX-8 is anything but what it is.
You are the one trying to say that it isn't what it is, and trying to beat into the ground what it isn't. DUH it isn't a drag racing car. None of us bought it for that.
Stop trying to get us to sell what we love and buy something we don't. If you enjoy your car, good for you, that's all that matters for you. Let us enjoy what we enjoy in peace.

There was an Evolution this past Saturday's AutoX. not sure what kind of power he is putting down but I'm sure he mod it somewhat. He tried real hard but his time wasn't all that impressive, in fact he broke his fender undercover during one of the run. my friend's 8 actually ran better time.
power ? hmm ?

I mean we all need a bit of horsepower. but the way he put it was like HP is everything. and handling < power. and Renesis suck *** --- (I thought he knows all about engines)

I was rarely able to beat the 100-140hp Miatas...

Most "hard core enthusiasts" actually prefer far more rounded cars. They respect the Viper for what it is, but never love it. It is harsh, beating the hell out of it's driver. No actual driver likes that.
None.

i wanted a 370z, but i would rather mod a v8. just cheaper with more options. so it came down to which is better to mod. engine wise

I'm alright with being gay as long as i own an RX vehicle. I have owned 2 FC's one a T2 and one a GTUs (wish i never sold), and a hyundai, without a doubt the RX8, to this date, is still one of the most pure drivers cars to own, and i would not trade that for any amount of horsepower/tq or fuel mileage.
The fastest car is not the best car. To each their own, i love my car.

Also remember dallas is only at about 600feet msl so we can get more out of fuel due to our low elevation. Keep that in mind with the unusually cold winter we have had which adds more oxygen to the air. I have only recently started keeping precise fuel logs, so we will see what happens when the temps reach around 103 degrees and our air is much thinner. I do however sometimes run 100-93 octane mixed, as well as occassionally throwing in some 100LL or even 110LL.
