Where in Jesey? Irwin Mazda in Freehold shows a titanium w/black red. GT, appearance, rotary accent, wing, moonroof spoiler, and spare tire. $33,574 MSRP.

I did not have any problems purchasing my RX8. I also have a 02 VW GTI. When I was purchasing my GTI, I let the dealer know what options I wanted with it, and they told me they did not have it and tried to make me compromise for what was on the lot, or wait for it to be built, I told them I would look elsewhere(other dealers, ebay, autotrader etc...). The dealer called me back in two days and said they were trucking one in from Kansas City(I'm in St.Louis) and It would be there in a week. Let the dealer know you will go elsewhere, and I guarentee they will find one for you. The car selling business is a cut throat business.

Have you seen the titanium with the black and chapparel interior?

That's what I have (titanium too) and I think it's a better combo than black and red for a titanium car. I have seen them both- take a look-

Also consider having monster coatings put 3m material on your fron and rear bumper- they did mine and after 1 year the car looks perfect- monster is in Northern NJ.

Best of luck!

Got any good pix of the interior? I think the brown and black is the most rare interior - I don't think I have ever seen it on a dealer's lot - and the pictures on the Mazda web page and the 8 literature do not show it much at all.

Just curiuous.

I don't like the brown at all. I put $$$ down on the one discussed in this thread and will most likely pick it up Sat. Don't have time during the week.

The dealer up the street from me has 8-10 RX-8s, and at least half of them have the brown interior :P

As for the options you want, you described my car exactly (with navi too).

Get the paint color you want, try to get the interior in red, and then don't worry about options (except maybe navi too). Get everything else after you buy the car!

I was looking for Black myself. It was looking damn near impossible to find the 8 I wanted (GT package w/ Navi) w/o a spoiler it seemed. I originally wanted black & red interior since I thought two-tone interiors are so cool. The dealer couldn't find one and tried to get me to settle for Ti on Black/Black. I did some searching myself and found exactly what I wanted but black/brown. Honestly, I'm really glad I got the brown. It's very, very classy. Looks fantastic.

I wanted the navi but it's like looking for blood in a stone. Just not around with this combo. The car I'm going to get tomorrow has everything but the strakes and exhaust finishers. I am hoping the delaer will just do those for when I pick it up.

I think you're imagining the color swap to be more drastic than it is. It's really not "tearing apart the interior". The seats are a bolt-in item. Unbolt, undo a couple of electrical connections, swap. Not a big risk of rattles and only requires a moderate amount of care. Just make it clear you won't accept scratches or tears. The only other color bits are the door panels and steering wheel. All of this stuff (except steering wheel) was removed when I had my aftermarket leather put in. It wasn't traumatic. If it's the only thing keeping you from the car you want I'd say go for it.

Well the one I found now has everything just the right way, so I'm going for that.
