Just traded in the RX-8
I just wanted to say goodbye and thanks for all the useful information. I traded my RX-8 for a Dodge Charger RT. I can't say I am overjoyed but a growing family necessitated the change. 2 rambunctious boys wedged in the back seats became more then I could handle especially as I am 6"4'.
I really liked the 8 - most of all the handling. The lack of low end did become a little annoying but that was compensated by the free revving engine.
As an aside I am selling my winter tire package in the Parts for Sale forum as well as on ebay in case any of you are interested.
Take care.

I'm not a big fan of the Charger looks but know a lot of other who love it. Regardless they're pretty fun to just mash the gas pedal in I hope you enjoy the new ride and don't regret having to trade the RX-8 in too much.

I hope the best and enjoy the new car, sure your going to miss the looks, handling, and fun to drive factor the most but a nice V8 will soften the blow.
What really bothers me about the Dodge is they FORCE you into a automatic, that's why I would never get it but it does look nice compared to the run of the mill family sadan.

The charger is definitely a more 'boring' car. Even with 340hp it can seem a little sluggish being 4000lb but I have to say I am amazed at how far american car makers have come. It isn't a BMW but build and ride quality are excellent.
I was forced to trade by my 2 year old son learning how much fun it is to kick daddy in the back when sitting in the rear. The more I yelped in pain the more he enjoyed doing it.
I hope at some point to get some kind of convertible to supplement the dodge.
And by the way I just got a plain old R/T - no packages and no daytona. I know shame on me

Hey I noticed Mkaresh responding.I rely on your eopinion reviews. They really are excellent. I knew you recommended the Road and Track package and it almost made me cancel my original order. The dodge was an impulse buy and I didnt do much research upfront before buying. Then I read your review and considered changing my order but I was too lazy!
I promise I won't neglect your recommedations in future.

Hey, I considered the Charger when I was shopping this fall, but my girls are small and at 5'11" I guess I'm smaller so we all fit nicely in our RX-8. I couldn't stomach the higher price for the Charger so that was the deal-breaker then, but now I'd miss the handling too.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the Charger - I'm sure you'll at least enjoy the increase in space. I'm a fan of the body style - look tough. I'd drive one.
