And lol, the SRT-4 is still a Neon. A unbelievable fast and well priced Neon, but still just a Neon (I sat inside one once, and it was like I was sitting in my 94 Civic again. Extremely low quality).

the 8 is the best bang for the buck... to get better performance u basically have to spend more money, because other sports cars of comparable class cost more.

The funniest part about this car is how much i pay on car insurance...Now that the true judge of a car. I can go fast and look cool while pay a minivan car insurance price.

Go to any car forum on the net and you'll see the same crap over and over again...
The RX-8 is slow and ugly, plus the rotary is an unreliable piece of crap
The Evo is ugly and just a Lancer
The STI is ugly and an econobox (add in understeers and not mod friendly if you're on an Evo forum)
The Z is a heavy pig with a shared engine and chassis
The SRT-4 is just a neon and is crap because it's American
The Cobalt (see above)
The S2000 is too cramped and impratical and the engine sounds like it's breaking apart at high RPMs
The Mini is a reliability nightmare and just a chicks car
The Miata is for gay men and is slow
and on and on...
It's all nonsense and you just need to cut through the fanboi bullshit if you're ever going to get anything useful out of car forums.
But yes, you're right. They really don't talk a whole lot about the RX-8 on their forums, at least not nearly as much as people talk about the Z here.

Sadly EvoM is the same way and I don't even bother postin over there much as a result. I actually got the most respect for my 1986 Crown Victoria with chome 5-spoke hubcaps. The exhaust had rusted off, and it sounded great! People would ask "flowmasters?" and I would reply "exhaust delete kit". When cops pulled me over they got all nostalgic about the good old days in their crown vics. I backed into a telephone poll and the poll shook quite violently. The car was unharmed. It also had quite an appetite for shopping carts and my friends' garbage cans. I don't think the RX8 or 350Z or any of those wannabe cars could ever do that.

no one ever states that "the 350Z is a piece of crap" or "the RX8 is 100x better than the EVO". It seems like everyone I've read or discussed with on this site gives credit where credit is due.
Of course, there are some who are biased towards the rotary engine and state that it is better than a piston driven engine. But I've never heard anyone state that the rotary is "faster" than a high horsepower V6 or V8. And guys like Ike always tell it straight, even if it means giving props to other vehicles over the 8.
Also, the fact that when people who own RX-8 purchase other cars, no one ever states "what the hell is wrong with you", but give them praise for buying other high quality vehicles. It's things like that which I like about this site, and no doubt there are some "fanbois" on here, I think it's much more toned down than other sites.

I have both the 8 and the Z, I think they are both good cars. The RX-8 definitely have better suspension (not always faster), but the Z is a faster car overall due to the power and the more raw factor.

You know, if they only gave us another rotor (I envision the MPG threads now).
Then you would have an engine that would produce approx 350hp with only about half of the CL of the 350Z and maybe 425hp with mile boost. I guess the exotic idea of producing great amounts of HP per liter just doesn't mean anything to some people.
Personally, I usually like the <car of your choice here>.
