Lightbulb Kit First or Rims First

Okay, I want to get a good opinion. I'm pretty much set on what I want to get when it comes to rims and a body kit. I've spent many hours looking at the different threads on aftermarket rims and body kits. So let me tell you my selections first.

Body Kit - Vertex Lang (will be painted TiGray) - FE3P's fault (https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...4&page=1&pp=40)
Rims - Either the Super Advans (like Lazi) or Enkei RP03s (Leaning towards the SA's though).

So from my research, both break the $2000 mark. That I've already accepted and am willing to pay (or get if anybody needs a website, PM for info)... anyway.. the big question is which one to get first. I'm going to predict that more people will vote for rims, because the Lang kit might look pretty odd with stock rims. But I thought I'd ask nonetheless so I can solidify my opinion.

Thanks in advance guys. Really appreciated.

tough decision can't really go wrong either way. But I would go rims first, then you gonna need a little bit of a drop to rid that wheel gap, then bodykit. Like you mention it would be kinda weird having a kit with stock rims.

I think the rp03s would look better imo.

Good option... I'm already on my way to getting a complete MS suspension kit (only'll be missing the springs/struts, sways are on their way)... and I've signed up for racing school at Infineon Raceway, and I'm also waiting on the Petit Supercharger. This is the only thing I really need help on.

I did rims first. They make more of a change to the car than the bodykit.

But if you're going to be blowing 4k, I'd look into a turbo install instead.

i vote kit. I think the stock rims would look bad with the vertex kit, but maybe that's just me.
the vertex kit is pimp by the way :]

rims first! rims always look good no matter what.

body kit looks tacky when the car as a whole is not complete ie paint or stock rims.

how about gas? why not a project card? for the price of a new painted kit and a set of wheels with tires you can get yourself a nice TII FC. which with a few mods can turn it into a 13 second car.

Heh, can't afford to have a 2nd car. Don't have the garage space and I probably won't for some time (bound to apartment complexes since houses in Silicon Valley are mad expensive). Again, a good thought, just not one I'm willing to act on right now ... maybe when I start my DIY auto shop idea.

Waiting for the superchargers to come out... had a turbo Starion already, I want to see the other side of FI.

Apartment complex's pretty strict about cars. o_o; Meh, I'd love an FC though.

I voted rims. I'm basically doing what you are doing as well!

Here is my order

- wheels (ordered and should be mounted this week.)
- springs/shocks/sway
- vertex kit
- custom paint job

Yeah, we have an underground garage, which each tenant is allowed one car, and then if you want to park out on the street you have to get a permit with the city. So, yes, it's WTF indeed.

i would get the rims, but not install them.
get the kit put on, and then immediately install the rims.

in most cases... having one without the other will not look great.

not entirely true. as long as you lower the car, the rims will look great with the car. but if you get a kit... you gotta get the rims and lower.

but it would be a bigger bang if you do everything all at once.
