let sit
I haven't had the 8 out for three weeks do to inclimate weather. I was just wondering if this weather ever passes should I throw a charger on it so it doesn't flood. Ive been through the flooding drama once and don't want to experiance it again.

just sit inside ant turn the ignition. I've had mine sit at -30C for weeks and it started right up very easily. Hold the clutch in for a minute or 2 after you start it, it purrs like a kitten.

My dealer said it was most likely to flood when not driven on a regular basis. You might want to take some precaution since you've had trouble in the past.
My mechanic is German with heavy accent and all. He told me after I bought the 8 that it was a very ,very well made car. He was very forthright and honest when he said it. You probably won't have any trouble starting it .

CHARGE THE BATTERY.
Mine has been sitting for several weeks as well. Just to be safe, I threw the battery tender on. It took a full 24 hours in order to bring the battery back up to a decent charge. Would it have started otherwise? Maybe, but I'm not sure. I wasn't about to take the chance

Not to derail the thread, but exaclty how does one "charge the battery?" I've seen very expensive computer controlled chargers for $350... is this what we're talking about?

Actually motor week had a short on it yesterday. All we need is a small battery charger/monitor to keep it topped off. Like a small, smart trickle charger, not a big 10 amp sears unit.
He showed one that leads are attached to the battery and put behing the grill so that it can be plugged in from outside. The charge unit itself looks like a 12 volt adpater that is plugged into 110volt AC. They sell for $50-75.
I think it would be a good investment if the car will sit for over a couple of weeks.

i barely drive it.. especially with this weather... i normally start the car up once a week leave it runing for about 15-20 mins. sometimes even more like the time i forgot because apprentice was on (doh 30 mins later!) i havnt had any problems with the car starting. just make sure u warm the car up everytime before u drive and cool it down a lil... i sit for about 1 minute.
