Let's Be Honest...

First off... I wanna say that the RX-8 is a quirky car, and that's part of its appeal. It's a sexy car with defined curves and sharp flares. It's a good looking car, but I think it could have more sex appeal.

This question isn't for people who bought their 8 because they wanted a practical fun car because your answer is obvious but I want to know: would any of you like your 8 better as a coupe, or even a 2 seater? I think a 2 seater car that looks like the 8 would be absolute sex on wheels (it is anyway but it would just look so right with 2 seats and 2 doors).

I love my suicide doors but practicality aside, I think I would love it if my 8 was a 2 door. It would open up other setup options like targa or convertible.

What do you guys think? Not taking practicality into account, would the 8 be a better looking, better feeling car if it had 2 doors?

I personally don't think it would look that good with a 2door it's a "bigger" car compared to 350z and g35 but then again it's hard to say because we have only seen it as a "4" door!

I love it the way it is, but I would not cry if they took the two rear doors+seats and shortened it abit.

This will not happen, and I don't mind .

Less storage is the wrong reaction. RX9 is actually going to be what RX8 merely "claimed" to be: practical.

Now, everyone gonna want this. Undeniable.

I love the way the 8 looks. The only problem I have with the suicide doors is their functionality. They are far less functional than I thought they'd be...

I can agree with this. It sucks opening the rear doors when cars are parked beside you.

I would've gone the path of the rx-7 if it weren't for the extra doors and seats, although a convertible..hmm sounds interesting lol. I mean they had a 2nd gen rx-7 convertible right? wonder how it would look.

I admit, I love targa tops! If I could trade the 4 door design for a targa top 2 seater RX8 I would consider it.

Still, it depends on the style and look of the car.

However, I will say that the RX8 as it's designed is very usable. Having no B pillar allows me to transport things I could never transport in another sports car of the same size and certainly not in a 2 seater.

I have moved myself several times with nothing but my RX8 and one trip in a friend's truck. I've transported pop-up tents, whole bumpers, 4 tires w/ wheels and all kinds of other stuff.

It's one of the only sports cars you can own and not have to own anything else.

I bought the car precisely because of its seating and unique doors. It's a sporty car I can cram people into when needed.
