liscense plate frame!!

We need to have a nice metal liscense plate frame, with the forums address and a good tagline (e.g theres no replacement for displacement) because it would be good advertising, would unite the forum, and is bound to sell. Tell me if theyre gonna be available soon, because im thinking of just buying one with a custom engraving, or a nopistons.com frame.
Thanks in advance
-Alex

Cool

In August of 03, while waiting for my rex to show up at the dealership, i searched everything for a great saying on the plate holder. Nothing fits the car so i had a custom plate holder made that says "No caption necessary" I get a lot of compliments on it and i see heads nod in agreement in my rearview. The car says it all.

I suggest that some moderators be held accountable for their actiosn on here. i.e. several times I have had moderatora make snide remarks about something I say and when I respond they say "you have been warned" then they say I will be booted. Hey I understand that that's their job, but I don't believe it's their job to stir the pot either. Just my take on this board. Thanks for lettin me vent.

I actually found a guy locally that would do them pretty cheep.

Some one get me a count for how many people would be in and ill go head and order them up.

How does a black powder coated frame with the "rx8club.com" logo on the lower horizontal and ill take subjective opinions on the top horizontal.

I've always like "if it ain't a rotor it ain't a motor" but thats wordy and gets tacky

Should we do more colors then black/perhaps a dark grey frame?

Spotted this saying at a web site once.

1.3 litres
2.0 rotors
3.0 moving parts
Now who has the advantage

Polak,

I like the idea of a nice frame however, can you make sure it has the tabs on the back side that hold the plate away from the cars paint? I have a plastic one and it has tabs that the plate slides into, this keeps it away from the paint to avoid rubbing thru the clear coat underneath. I ordered a RX8 one from ebay but won't use it for this reason, and it is kinda cheap lettering.

Thanks

How about "sit on it and rotate"?

Kidding.

If you're looking for an awesome plate frame manufacturer for the RX8 I can't speak highly enough of Becart's license plate frames. Each frame is made from solid aluminum. They look and feel amazing. I met the guy who makes them at TT-East a few years ago. Great guy, great craftsman, great product.

This is the frame I have on my TT (same color car, different state/plate). They're a bit pricey but they're worth every penny. Mine is polished and dimpled (much like the interior aluminum trim in the TT) but polished and non-dimpled versions are available too. It's actually a solid frame with complete backing into which your license plate slides (like a photo frame), not just a simple frame around the plate.

^^^ I like that because my plate is warped and the 2 screws don't hold the bottom flush.

Like I said, they're kind of pricey but worth every penny. You actually slide the plate into a slot on the side of the frame and attach the backside to the car. If you look at the pic closely, you'll notice that the screws aren't going through the plate..they're behind it.

Each frame is hand crafted and their price reflects it, so they're certainly not for everyone. I don't know if I'd be as enthusiastic about a polished non-dimpled frame since they look a bit too standard for me but the brushed, dimpled frames are pure art.

Well, some people on here seem to think that $200 strakes were worth the money, and those are 4 lousy pieces of metal.

In this respect, people who like to **** their money away could think that $95 for a license plate frame is a steal.

I don't think I'd ever qualify it as a steal...but by the same token outside of Fla and other "sunshine" states, I'd also call tinted windows a waste of cash. Whatever floats the buyer's boat, right?

I like to think of it like this: Someone (and a lot of them) actually bought an Aztek.
