last night i parked the 8 in the garage left the keys in the ignition ,i never do that but had a brain fart. this morning i went to get into go to work and the car was lock, is there a safety feature that if you leave the key in the ignition it will lock automaticaly after sometime has past .luckly i had a spare key in the house .

 

I've noticed that the car will automatically lock itself after a minute or so of sitting unlocked, but i didnt think it was possible for it to do so with the keys in the ignition.

 

i've noticed that you can't lock the doors with the door s opened ,on my other car you can prelock the doors if they are opened then when eveyone shuts their doors it auotmaticaly locks not on the 8 though

 

It will only do that when it's been locked, and you use the remote to unlock it but don't open the door within a minute. If you've opened a door after unlocking, it will not re-lock.

i could not unlock the door with my remote had to use the key i guess because the key was in the ignition

 

I think it says in the manual.
"NOTE
After unlocking with the transmitter, all doors will automatically lock if one of the doors is not opened within about 30 seconds"
