Long day, finally picked her up
I think my neighbors are getting jealous
Ok so here's a few pics of my new baby... just to make everything official
The nice thing is that my production date is April 2004 and I also inherited the Dunlops! (as they were stock).
I'll try to find out if I have the M-flash already, hopefully I do.

I just got my 8 as well... I luff it. It was "used" with only 4600KM on it... car's in mint shape though, the guy that owned it is a car nut.
It needs to have most of the stuff done to it, I've already seen the oil light flash on at me under acceleration... which likely means the M flash hasn't been done yet.

Hey - to check for the M Flash, turn the key to ON and then tap the brake pedal at least 20 times in 8 seconds. If you have the M Flash, your Oil guage will cycle from low to middle and back to low. There is a post somewhere in the forum about this if you want to search for more details. My car was also manufactured in April and that's how I verified it on mine. Interesting though, I didn't get Dunlops, mine came with Bridgestones.

According to the VIN# theory - I should have the M-flash since my VIN last digits is greater than 35536.
But I will try the brake test tomorrow to absolutely sure.
I have a question guys - when comes time to add a quart of oil, can you mix Mobil 1 (synthetic) with the regular 5w30 stuff from the dealer? which in my case is Petro Canada... cheap oil brand if you ask me.
Or should I just use any non-synthetic 5w30?

"Regular or synthetic"--many, many, many threads on it, but it boils down to that if you want to be on the safe side, stick with high-quality regular. As far as top-offs go, I was raised to believe you never mix regular and synthetic, no matter which one's already in the engine.
. . . and if you can afford this car and the gas it consumes, you can afford a quart of the good stuff every once in a while.
