Just got done with trip from Wyoming to San Antonio, TX. Spent 18 hours on the road each way, mileage was around 1200 each way. This has got to be one of the most comfortable cars I've ever driven on a long road trip like that. I actually got just about 24 MPG. :D

You guys are lucky...I have YET to enjoy a longer ride than 75 miles in my 8...it's been mainly city driving with some highway...but none of it for a trip.

I have had two long drives in Australia.
One was from Adelaide to Sydney to Byron Bay back to Adelaide through central west New South Wales. Essentially all of the main driving was in 5 days. This was about 2800 miles.
The next was from Adelaide to Byron Bay and Back again. 2400 miles in 4 days without a problem. An I am happy to say I didn't get passed the entire way. Then again , on certain stretches of the Hay Plain, it is only you and the occasional B-Double truck for hours at a time.
(edit : In outback Australia, you can't drive at night, early dawn or twillight because of the Kangaroos. So, even though we could have covered more than 600-700 miles in a 24 hour period, we were limited to about a 10 hour window of driving each day. You don't want to hit a full grown kangaroo (or even a wallaby) at 130 kph in anything short of a B-double road train)

700 miles from Columbus to Hilton Head SC last week with my wife. We stuck to the back roads and a blast carving through the mountains.
When you drive through small towns in a yellow 8 people look at you like a UFO has just landed. We came up on a boy maybe 12 or so playing beside the road in a some small town. Just as we were coming up on him he turned around and saw us. His jaw dropped open and we could read his lips: "Oh my god!". We laughed the rest of the way through town. :D

Newport Beach to Boston, and back-- got tikets for Red Sox World Series- thought the drive would be fun-- it was. These cars are great on long trips, cruise at---- all day, had detector, saved me several times. Had NO problems with car, changed oil in Boston, and returned.
