Just search the forums, you'll find more than enough info.

After you read this forum, you might not want one.

...or you might want one even more, depending on your intentions with your car. You'll have a lot of fun with it in autocross. You won't if you're racing kids at stop lights.

HP gains are minimal (+ 5-6HP in total or so) as the stock intake and exhaust are decent. Probably can squeeze out more power if you get a Canzoomer ECU piggyback or RB flash. You are better off putting in performance mods such as suspension, strut bars, short shifter, sticky tires, etc. If you want straight line power, you likely have to go turbo. Go to the Turbo section for details.

I have an 04 you can take the lease over on. Fully loaded and in great condition other than the power drain. Hopefully the new dealer fixes that. Consider it a 1.5 year test drive.

Most NA hp gain to the wheels is a lighter flywheel IMO, esp. at autox speeds.

Otherwise a great autox car.

Keep in mind the RX-8 is a good BS car. Once you start modding you're going to be tossed into other classes where it will be much tougher to keep up with the competition. You'd be wise to examine the rules closely and do nothing more than BS legal mods until you get your feet wet.
