All very uncommon. Except recalls, but I'd rather have the company address problems than leave them out there.

should be some news soon. Sevenstock 9 is going on right now and expect word out of that. There's a blog here somewhere.

I've had no problems at all. R&T just gave an "excellent" rating to the reliability of their long-term '04 after 40K miles. In their April, 2006 annual auto issue, Consumer Reports upgraded the reliability rating to "average".
Yes, you read about lots of RX-8 problems here—but that doesn't mean most owners have lots of problems. Looking for solutions (or just a sympathetic voice), people come here, quite understandably, to post problems. People who don't have problems don't bother to come on just to say "nothing went wrong with my RX-8 today". That's not news. (And that's why you can't turn on the evening news and deduce that most Americans are subject to murder, robbery, rape, fire and explosions. You'll never hear Brian Williams say "…and in the Twin Cities, today, no one was held hostage at the Mall of America.")
Finally, don't believe everything you read here. Did you know that '05 was going to be the last year of the RX-8? Mazda was going to discontinue the car due to poor sales. I read it right here—on rx8club.com.
