Believe me I know all cars have issues, for example, my maxima has bad struts. Been replaced once so far and I have people have them replaced up to 4 times. This is a 2004 just about new. But none the less I can still drive the car to work in the morning. I am just very concerned about not being able to start it when I have to get to work.

I get almost 400-450 miles on one tank with the maxima. At the pump almost 2 times a week(I like to not let it go past half way). Putting 93 octane in it with a gas price here currently at 2.10. I live in Rhode Island near Newport. So I am glad to hear that it handles well in the snow. The Rx-8 I am looking at is fully loaded with everything in it(including the Nav). If my fuel costs are 5-10 dollars more so be it. I will just buy one less pizza. I probably won't put 93 in it though I would probably put in 89 or 91. For some cheaper costs.

I did like this car very much when I drove it, and is very similar to my maxima in features but no heated steering wheel . I even like the trunk space it has which was more than I expected. I don't like very roomy cars but I do like mid size cars for safety reasons. I noticed this car got very decent safety ratings. All in all I am leaning toward this purchase. Will let everyone know by the end of the week or next week if I am driving new wheels.

Thanks again,

I have had my 8 for six months & I have had to take it in for minor repairs, such as brake squeel, oil light & loose interior trim. But other than that the car has been FUXKING INCREDIBLE. So you have to check the oil once every two or three weeks, I do that on all the cars I have owned. It only uses alot of oil during the run in period, now it is no different to any other car I have had. Gas milage could be a little better but the extra $5 worh of gas a week is WELL worth it.

If you want comfort, performance, handling, style get the 8 period.

I've never flooded any rotary--I drive my RX8 like I drive my Millenia S--get in and go. While flooding was an initial problem--the flashes have remedied the issue for the most part. Honestly I would not be worried about flooding. There are far more people that have not ever flooded their rotaries than those that have.

I'm another owner that has never flooded (14 months/11k miles so far), and since I always let the car warm up I doubt I ever will. It's really not as big of a concern as you'd think. I also have been driving through my second winter with the '8 on snow tires- with the DSC/TCS/ABS and snow tires the RX8 is tons-of-fun in the winter.

Stage one of negotiations has begun. The dealer is trying to work me about taking the maxima. Blah, blah, blah. Not sure if it will be happening. Well right now doesn't look very good for me to be joining this illustrious club.

Thank you for all the suggestions and help

I appreciate it.

nope not a civic at all As a former Civic owner, I made an earlier explanation as to simply say that if you like it (like I did my civic back in the day), you won't notice or feel like you're "working much harder" on this car than on any other. If you don't like cars to begin with, its probably more care than you may want to deal with. But its obvious you like cars, so that being the case, you'll just think its all part of the fun. Period...good luck man! DO IT!

Start with the internet sales department with a few dealers that are nearby but not necessarily the dealers you would like to buy from. Don't mention the trade at all until you have what you are looking for on the buy side.

Good luck.
