Looking to buy used RX8...things to look for?
Hey guys,
I am looking to buy a used RX8 within the price range of $8k-$12K. (It will probably be an 2004 or 2005 model I'm guessing) I wanted to know some things I should look for when buying a used RX8 and what I should expect once I do buy it.
Typical used RX8 will be:
$8k-$12k
2004-2005
Miles: 60,000-90,000
Automatic only
What maintenance issues? Problems? Maybe upgrades/mods I should immediately get to improve performance? Certain model I should look for?
Any advice/tips is helpful!
Thanks

this question has been asked about a million times. You should read up on the stickies/search
Read these threads in this board, "Rx8 FAQ for new owners", "Rx8 FAQ please read before posting" and "First time rotary owner? Read this before you modify your car" as they are pretty important.

also when looking for a car, when you find one you like, request the vin number and make sure the recalls have been done by checking on the Mazda website to run the Vin and see if the owner has done them in a timely manner. Ask for maintenance records also. They should be changing the oil at 3-5 thousand mile intervals(on average), spark plugs and coils should have been changed already if it is at the 60k mark. If they haven't look into doing that.. Other than that make sure the car looks good both on interior and exterior.
In terms of performance, from what I've read, you aren't going to get much out of putting an exhaust, intake etc so the best way to get more power is to go FI.
i hope i'm not wrong on anything lol and if i am, please correct me.
