people might not like you, but i doubt it will be because you drive a honda :p
1. what do i like about the 8? comfort. style. handling. rotary sound. 9k redline. smooth revving engine.
2. mod costs are inline with the costs quality parts for other cars.
3. stock, ~180hp at the wheel, ~135ft-lbs at the wheel. 6-low6 0-60 if you don't abuse your clutch. low high 5s if you do abuse your clutch.
also, mods don't have that much of an effect on this car because it is already very efficiently tuned. if you want to add a decent amount of power, you'll need nawz or FI. for the most part, intake, exhaust are primarily just for aesthetics, with slight bumps in power.
if you want a high tuner, get yourself a b13 or b14 sentra with the sr20det motor.

ok thanks for the insight. but yeah i get alot of thimbs down and hondas suck and that kinda crap. plus only being 18 poeple think i am a ricer. but then they line them up and get smoked by a sohc civic that is a four door. but i blow that engine up so on to batter things. i didn't know that the rx-8 had a 9k revv. that is sweet. so here are some more questions if u don't mind.
1. are there a lot of mods on out there for this car.
2.what is the top end like, is there a good pull on the higher gears.
3. how much tuning involeved to get in the high numbers for horsepower.
4. any turbo kits out yet and if so how much.
do u like the sleeper look or show off.( me i like the sleeper)
5. did u do any thing to ur rx-8

I like the 8 because it is a different car, the motor seems great there is continous power and the power is very linear. The car I think does need a bit more power but until someone comes out with a stand alone unit (hint hint AEM) mine stays NA.
There are a few options right now Greddy has a turbo, but the emanage is incapable for tuning and holding the tuning maps without the ecu relearning. The greddy ulitmate is suppose to fix this. There is also the inteceptor made by mazsport that is suppose to work.
Motec does make a unit that Hymee is using to run a twin screw supercharger.
We should see a few different options in the future that are not out yet.

2) Check around the forum for dyno charts. We make peak HP at 8500 rpm.
3) You'll need NOS or FI to get more than 30 extra HP. Like glyphon said, the usual bolt-ons don't have any significant improvement over stock.
4) There are a couple out already, and several more on the way - including a couple SCs. Check out the "Major Horsepower Upgrades" section
5) No cash for major mods just a couple appearance related things (listed in my "vbGarage")

i c. i am done with the honda, so i need something that i can race with that u don't see evryday and i like the rx8 and rx7 but can't find a rx7 plus i see a lot of them racing. o by the way i am in toledo. soi do have snow
ok some more questions.
1 avg 1/4 mile time
2 top speed and does it get there farly quick
3 how hard do u think this car is to tune.
4 any one wnat to buy a honda runs 12s on a sohc motor needs to be fixed( spun two bearings)< not good
5. what is the fastest rx8 u have seen

If seems you're interested in the straight up power of this car. I think you might be disappointed with it since it's more of a balanced car. You're not going to be stomping on Zs with this thing without some major mods. The car does, however, handle like a dream and it's very much a driver's car.
As far as modding goes, not many people are proficient with rotary engines, which makes getting anything done tough on occasion. I'd say judge whether or not you'd have trouble tuning the car based on how much you know about how rotaries work. That should give you a decent idea.

really, if you want a redlight stomper, this isn't the car for. get a mustang or a gto.
the rx8 is reasonably quick, but not blistering fast in the 1/4. the car can hang with more powerful cars and cars that are faster in the straights because it handles so well.
