Looking for old RX7 video
I am looking for an old video of somebody trying to destroy an RX7 engine. As I remember they were going to do an engine swap and desided to put a brick on the gas and see how long it would last.
I know it survies a long time and they find the exhaust cherry red at the end. Anyway does somebody know how to find it. I have tried searching here and online but have yet to hit the right combination of words to get to that video.
Thanks for the help.

I remember seeing something similar a long time ago and it seems it was maybe an FC RX-7 with the camera pointed at the front of the engine bay (most of the time) while the car was parked in a driveway right beside a house. There was 2 or 3 young guys with one explaining that the engine lost compression and was about to be rebuilt or swapped so they decided to see how long it would last before completely dying. I remember something about the glowing exhaust. Not sure if this is the one you are talking about or where to even find it anymore.

That's the one I was talking about!! I just had to confirm my DOB to view. I was thinking it was white or silver but forgot about it being a vert. The sound of that thing starting at about 5:20 to death is maddening. I'm sure the neighbors were pissed.

Huge hole is huge
I'm not watching it right now as I'm at work, but I have a good idea as to what it is, and that's a WHOLE lot of smoke. I'm surprised the fire dept. wasn't called.

Yep, that was the one, I kept getting on the vidoes for the drag racers blowing up their engines. Thanks for the help. I have a friend who wrongly thinks that a rotary engine cannot survive abuse. I thought this would be a good way to show they can take a lot and keep running if they had to. It is sad to watch but good to know that if I had to I could drive my car in an emergency with a partially blown engine.
Used to be you could search for stuff and find it, now there is so much out in the web you get more hits that you can deal with and if don't start right you will never find it.
Thanks again for the help.

man, that video still straight up impresses me!
It already has a blown apex seal and still lasted over 7 minutes at WOT. That is incredible.
Our engines are tanks *if we can avoid carbon lock**
