Looking to Swap my truck for a RX-8

Hello guys, I have been a member of a Dodge forum and those people are some of the most helpful people on the internet. I want to sell my truck and get a RX-8. I am looking to get one in the 2007-2009 year range. I know these arent the best on gas, but must be better than my truck. Any problems with the 2007-2009 range models? I have about 18,000 to spend. Heres a pic of my gas guzzling truck:

Haha, when the truck was stock it might be close. Those aftermarket wheels and tires completely killed my gas mileage.

You can't really do any hauling in the 8. I decided to just keep my truck for utility purposes and as a dd. Although I find myself driving the 8 in to work a lot now.

Any 8 that is '06 and up is a good pick, imo. In '09, the RX8 went through some changes.
Try reading through some of these to get an idea if this is the car for you

Also, this thread lists the mechanical changes between the series 1 and series 2 RX8's https://www.rx8club.com/series-ii-technical-trouble-shooting-160/mechanical-changes-rx-8-series-i-ii-161665/

Hope this helps

With 18k to spend, I don't see how you couldn't get yourself an 09, which went through some mechanical changes to help the reliability of the engine (Still waiting to see how much it helped)

I have a friend with a brand new Silverado, and he says he really misses the gas mileage of his 06 'Stang GT. That's gotta say something!
