lots of hating
anyone else notice how almost no one likes the 8? today i was playing cs (counterstrike, its a computer game) and there was a huge car discussion going on and when i mentioned the 8 everyone started flaming =O. this wasn't the first time either, most of my friends (they're 350z people though) do this as well. most people insult it since it doesn't have as much power as its competitors =\.

Who cares what others think of your car. All that really matters is that you feel good, alive, and love to drive your RX-8.
People should not bash others cars since everybody have their own styles, needs, wishes, desires, and preferences.
I love my RX-8 since it gives me pleasure whenever I drive it. I have had many negative experiences with cops and my RX-8, but I refuse to sell it. Who gives a **** if somebody is hating. There will always be haters in this world, and the haters will get what they deserve sooner or later, so enjoy your car.

My friends do too haha
Hardly ever mention it though, because they know i love my car.
They don't actually hate, but I think jokingly diss my car hahaha
Everytime we see 350z on the road, they go like OMG that's a nice car...
i'll be like shut up man
haha i love my 8 and my friends =]
I think all the hating is because it looks just plain beautiful
I could care less about power. That is why i chose is over STi, and I love it
Enough Power for me
like when they hated Jesus
like when they hated rudolf
like the main character from MeanGirl
like Mandy Moore from WAlk to Remember just because she was new and different
You guys got the idea

Jealousy. Why is it that everybody that pulls beside the RX8 wants to race it. Because it's faster than they think or want to believe. They seem to have something to prove. That's why they knock the car, to make themselves or their cars seem better than they really are. My 2 cents.

Hey y'all. I drove the 350Z, the 2006 325i, the Audi A3 (wow...) and then came to the Mazda dealer because I wanted a good sense of what moved me. I wanted to drive all the cars that I thought were cool, before I shelled out the cash for one... I sat down in the SHinka in the showroom... and felt... one with it - weird eh? I then was given a regular 8 to test-drive (sport package, or whatever) and was immediately thrilled on how she handled. It took me about 3 miles to realize I wanted my RX-8...
Now I've had it for a week tonight, and I have ~900mi on 'er.... holy crap that's a ton of driving. Every mile races my heart too... I took it out every night this week just to look for an excuse and a curvy road around here to drive it on... I wish it wasn't pouring every freakin' day.....
Anyway - I'm rambling - but my point, the other cars I drove just didn't have what I needed to be happy in a car... it's a good feeling - so I say screw 'em if they give you crap about the 8...

unless things have changed a lot since i last played CS, you're probably not talking to the the most mature people out there.
don't get me wrong, i met some really nice/smart people playing CS, but they're the minority.

People don't understand us / the rotary concept / our uniqueness...
Last night, my 8 year old son and I were returning home after seeing "The Fantastic 4."
The weather was nice so we had the windows down and were Cruisin'...
I was stopped in the left turning lane, waiting for the light to change
when a 10 or 15 year old red Honda with a K-Mart muffler pulled up beside me.
You know the type of car/driver... "rotten teeth, bad mullet, vibrating trunk from the poorly installed $20 woofer..."
As he revved his engine, clouds of blue smoke and fumes of 10/30 billowed out his talepipe...
The light changes and I ease away hearing "F*** Y** !" from the hillbilly trailer park trash.
Well, if my son hadn't been with me, I would have hit my brakes, climbed out and removed his three remaining good teeth with my tire iron...
I think the thing that upset me the most is having my son exposed to this retard disrespecting us...
I told my son, "people like that are why you need to do well and school and why we don't marry our relatives..."
Sorry for the Hi-Jack

The average as of CS players is probably 13 and have never driven a car before. Their "dream car" is the all powerful Mustang because "it's fast and has lots of HP". Don't get me wrong, the Mustang is an alright car but you can't just go by the HP rating.
I think that most people don't understand what makes the RX8 standout. They just go by the numbers published --> thinking more HP = better.
Don't worry, you have a superior car that very few can touch! Heck there are only a few cars that I would trade up for (ie Aston Martins, Ferraris, Porsche)

the more you try to defend it the more you add fuel to the fire. People hate what they don't understand. I met many auto enthusiasts that love the rx8 for what it is. True car owners and enthusiasts realizes every car has it's features and weaknesses, when I come across people that hate, I don't defend my ride, I feel sorry for them b/c they don't have a clue what they're talking about.
I'm tired of these threads about this and that people bashing this and that. No matter what car you buy people hate people have 350z hate on 8, people that have rx8 hate on 350z, difference with me I like both for what it is. If I had the cash I would choose that, s2k, and all the rides you're comparing with but this isn't GT4. You're dealing withfriggin dumb fanbois just brush em off. Bottom line is I know you didn't spend 30k to give a care about what others think, you bought b/c obviously there was something you liked about the 8 enough for you to make 60 payments on the dam thing, and just remember that and tell anyone that says otherwise to f* off and read a book.
