Loving the 8 again

Loving the 8 again
Was gone nearly 2 weeks for a Griswald style road trip in the family SUV to see the mouse. Back to the grind this morn, reacquainting myself with the 8, finding solace in the drive.
First, just getting into that low slung cockpit, everything felt right again. Gotta love that reclined four inches off the ground feeling that only comes with a sportscar, makes you want to play every time. Dropped my young boys at school, also love not having to get out for them to exit, but not as much as they love stepping out of the 8 in front of their friends. Got a 30-40 minute drive to work, starts with great empty country roads but ends with congested city streets. Ripped up to redline a couple of times, seamless and smooth like nothing else. Actually stepped out the rear a couple of times sans DSC, so easily controlled, similar to my old 2300 pound Miata. Pure fun.
Then city streets...soft leather and comfy heated seats. The lightness of the controls and the compliant ride often fools me into believing that I'm driving a luxury car. After 16 months of thrashing it, not having a single squeak or rattle to annoy is a bonus.
Man, I love driving this car, the only car I've driven that makes not riding my motorcycles bearable. I can't think of any other car that can do ALL of these things better then the 8.
As for this site, can't say I missed it as much. Looking over recent threads, I see that the same dickless wonders who love trashing the 8 still dominate post counts. But entertaining as always.
