I hate to say this, but I second the search button thing.

There are a TON of updates apparently... Try the tech garage forum

geezus... I DID use the search button and crap load of stuff came up. I don't know what your days are like but I unfortuantely do NOT have all day to wade through what seems like a MILLION posts that don't directly answer my question because most of it is segmented babble.

If you don't have anything constructive to say, stay out of it and ignore it. How hard is that???

OK. Here it is in a nutshell. Your car has a computer (called the ECU here on the board). Its program controls fuel among other things. Mazda has updated this program several times over the past year. The LATEST version is "M". We call this the M Flash (people talk about flashing the ECU). There is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) that can be found on the Rosenthal Mazda site that states that all cars made before a certain date would benefit from the M flash and should be upgraded. This flash will help cold starts, idle, maybe even fuel economy. Next time you have the car serviced ask your service tech about the flash. If they don't know about it ask them to research it. You can test to see if you car has at least the L flash if you turn the key to on (don't start the car) then tap the brake pedal 20 times within about 8 seconds. The OIL Gauge needle should sweep from zero to 1/2 and back to zero. Hope this helps. Welcome to the board.

Sorry you're lazy.

Pidge, why are you getting so excited about this? Plenty of people (including me) would be happy to provide a quick answer to a quick question -- even one that has been answered before. It's really not a big deal. Just hit "next thread" if you don't feel answering the question yourself. Play nice.

I've never started a thread for fear of this type of retaliation. The search function usually gives you an answer to pretty much everything and some things you didn't want to know about...

See, here's my problem with what you said here. Apparently, you don't have the time to use the search button and read a few messages, but you assume the rest of us have the time to repeatedly answer the same questions over and over.

I have no problem with you asking the question. Someone will come along and help out eventually. But don't assume you're the only busy person on the board.

I have search many times on this forum and half the time it comes back and says the Admin has limited you to one search per 20 secs and its my first search. Also you have to use too many words and cannot use such things as ECU or flash which is a better description then electronic control unit which no one uses.

If every new member had this attitude, this forum would be flooded with endless pages of questions that have been answered time and time again.

Maybe newbies don't know HOW to use the search button? I don't really get it.
Maybe YOU are the one who needs reading comprehension....I clearly stated that most of that is segmented babble....which I'd rather not read...

Hey, of ALL of you, someone may have the time to answer the question and if they do....great (I'd do that for anyone else If I could).....If you don't want to answer it, IGNORE it. I don't see whats to get your panties all up in a bunch about.

Anyways I'm done with you you're not worth the time and I could think of a million better things to do than to argue stupid **** like this.

good luck in whatever you do.

This search took me all of 3 seconds.
And in the time you have written all of this crap you could have helped the guy out.

I hate you.

There sure seem to be some intolerant ****** on this forum. You sure know how to welcome new members and incourage them to be a part of the community.

Go back to bed and get up on the other side next time!

Guys, why can't we all hold hands around the forum and be friends? I think Pidge and Condor need to make up.
