M Flash verification

M Flash verification
I have been doing searches on the board, and reading about the m flash but I cant find a way to verify it has been done(other than the sticker, which I don't have). I just picked up my car last friday and asked the dealer to do it before I took delivery & they said they did, but there is no sticker under the hood. I attempted the "brake test" and the oil guage did sweep, but this doesnt mean I have the m flash does it? Doesnt that just narrow it down to the m or the one prior? Is there a way to verify without a doubt that I have the m flash? Would mazda usa know?

i don't think your car is part of the "m-flash" thingy...i think your car doesn't fall under the whole time frame..but i donno...check your VIN number w/the numbers its suppose to be on the rosenthal site...

The bulletin says "Vehicles produced on or after 3/12/04 and VIN is JM1FE17**40135537 or later, contain the “M”
calibration & do not require an updated calibration." My vin is jm1fe1735******, so I think Im in the group that needs the flash. And its not that I dont trust the dealer, I dont even really know them. They are just the dealer who had the exact car I wanted. They very well may have done it, but I have no proof and just want peace of mind. But have no way to see to it that it was done since no sticker was applied. I was hoping performed bulletins & recalls were logged into a database that mazda could reference.

The brake pedal/oil gauge test confirms "L" or higher, not "M".
Ask the service dept. at your dealer to show you the screen of the ECU status for your vehicle, or even for a screen print. When I was buying mine the "M" flash was on my "must do before I accept the car" list. They faxed me a screen print showing that they'd done the "M" flash.
FWIW, my car starts up and idles exactly as abbid described above. I didn't know that pre-M cars started differently, but if they did then I can confirm his method.
Snap-On
I don't necessarily trust any dealer's service dept. Too many horror stories for me to be that naive. But I still have to buy a car from somewhere. There's no harm in double checking their work.
