magnetic door ding protector???
i am considering this, they are magnetic and can be easily removed. there are several places on the internet that sell these. anyone know which is the best? also what do you think the chances some *** will steal them or mess with your ride because you have them tell me what you think......... if the car is kinda dirty will magnetic strip damage paint etc if you dont drive with it on and are careful when you remove it???? please help

I think using them in a public parking lot will be an invitation to trouble.
Aren't most of those intended for home use to keep bicycles, the spouse's car door, etc. from dinging the car?

I've used them for the past 3 years - they're great!
1. Do remember to remove them before you drive.
2. They won't scratch the paint because they don't move. (See #1)
3. I live in NYC and they've never been stolen. I suspect that's because most people, as we know, don't care about door dings - so they wouldn't bother with ding protectors.
4. As far as inviting trouble - like keying? - that's a good question. I could see how they might invite trouble.
