Is a Mass Air Flow Sensor and an O2 Sensor covered under the Emisions warranty?

Limped my RX-8 into the Mazda Service this morning chunging and sputtering after they replaced the motor two weeks ago. The verdict came in this afternoon.
It needs a Mass Air Flow Sensor and an O2 Sensor. Sounds like BS to me. How the hell does that effect the oil pressure reading unit which was reading either normal or 0?
