Mazda guaranty/warranty

Since i bought my 8 used, im not sure how long the guaranty/warranty is. Ive heard its 5 or 3 years, can someone confirm this?

Today when I slided the mid-console back to grab my wallet, two pieces broke off the "sliding-mechanism" underneath the lid. I can still open/close the console, but its sliding movements is very uneven and loose.

Do yall think this is something I can claim on the warranty?

I think that is incorrect. The standard warranty is 5 years, 50,000 miles. Under the most recent recall, the powertrain warranty is extended by one year, 10,000 miles.

Your sliding compartment is covered under the standard warranty unless the dealer wants to argue abuse.

P.S. Did you get the Owner's Manual and the Warranty book. It is all spelled out in there (except the recent extension, of course). If you didn't get them, do so---

Goto the MNAO website or your dealer.

And read them both carefully. It's well worth the effort.

You can also ask your (Mazda) dealership to print out the Warranty information for your VIN. I did that. It includes the original purchase date (date the warranty started), length of warranty and a few other nice things.

(That was a condition for me buying the car, I wanted the remainder of the warranty in writing.)

Powertrain has been upgraded to 60 months or 60k.

Ok, I see. So I imported my 8 from another country, I still got the warranty yes, this is something Mazda-central (world wide) offers? So I can just take her to my local Mazda dealer, allthough I didnt purchase there.

On the 2006, it is 4 years, 50K miles. I read somewhere that they will go back to 3 years, 36K miles starting with the 2007's.
