I wonder whether they're splicing two different laps together for that? The interior shots with the driver talking mostly showed him taking proper lines in the corner and minimizing sliding. Whereas the exterior shots showed the car going sideways in the turns and having to countersteer quite a bit. Great racetrack though, I really want to drive that corkscrew once in my life before I die!

that was pretty sweet. raced that course endless times between GT2/3/4 and Forza, and always wondered what a lap on the real course would look like.

I feel stupid... I finally found the video on that site. Great find and I'm glad I went back to actually find it.

 

Never saw the vid, but I think it is at least two vids spliced together a hardcore run with the camera overhead and a gentler in car commentary. I believe the over head view, the driver is wearing a helmet.

 

If anyone is the Monterey area, you can visit the track year round for free (when there isn't a race/event going on) and gaze at all the corners from behind the fence because there is a public camp ground right next door. I got right alongside the corkscrew for a picture last summer.
